Dr. Tolga Yenilmez received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Boston University after graduating from Istanbul University's Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 1996. He is licensed in IL, NY, WI, OR, United Kingdom and Turkey and has over 20 years of experience working in a broad range of settings and internationally with orthopedic and neurological injuries. His passion about the psychology of injury led him to seek additional training and he received a certificate in psychotherapy from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco with an emphasis on transpersonal psychology. In addition to standard physical therapy procedures, Tolga is trained in Functional Manual Therapy courses through Institute of Physical Art and his treatments involve a hands-on approach to uncover the root cause of symptoms, restore optimum function and resolve pain patterns. He practices a holistic approach to disease with an emphasis on mind-body connections and currently splits his time between Chicago and the West Coast. I treat mechanical restrictions of soft tissue and joints via manual therapies, while helping reprogram the nervous system around the injury. Dr. Tolga is also a practitioner and facilitator of Tensegrity, a modernized version of movements and meditations passed on through seers of ancient Mexico to promote awareness and well being and facilitates classes in Midwest and West Coast.
