MGP Clocks
The president of MGP Incorporated, Michael G. Poisson, has devoted his professional life to the painstaking repair of vintage watches that date from 1700 to 1940. Being a third-generation horologist, his passion for horology runs in his family. He started learning the craft of clock and watchmaking at the young age of 10 by working as an apprentice for his father and grandparents. Following his schooling, Mr. Poisson worked with a renowned European clock maker to perfect his trade. He started his own watch and clock repair business in 1978 after moving to Boston, Massachusetts. He then moved his company to Wayland, Massachusetts, in 1989, and it is still going well there. Michael G. Poisson has been providing painstaking restoration services for over thirty years to museums, historical and preservation societies, and private collectors of all kinds of clocks. His knowledge includes complicated minute-repeating pocket watches, vintage wristwatches, French and English carriage clocks, early tall case clocks, banjo clocks, regulator clocks, bracket clocks, and vintage wristwatches. In his fully furnished, state-of-the-art workshop, Mr. Poisson painstakingly cuts gears and handcrafts clock parts, demonstrating his extraordinary skill. His commitment to maintaining these vintage watches' timeless elegance is incredibly admirable.
